Bodega Viña La Cerca (Wine Tasting)
Just on the outskirts of Cartagena is a family run vineyard Viña la Cerca offers you an unforgettable experience. in a rural setting located in Pozo Estrecho. On their estate, next to the winery, they have a museum with tools and other materials used in working the land that allows us to illustrate the uses and traditions of agricultural and livestock work. Enjoy touring the vineyard and the winery, visit this small museum with the history of the family and, finally, carry out a tasting and pairing in our tasting room, with different dishes made with exquisite products of the local gastronomy: salted meats, cheeses, sausages, nuts, tomatoes and pickles.
Winemaking has been a part of our family for almost 150 years. Thus, the artisan wines from Viña La Cerca, our winery in Pozo Estrecho, in the Cartagena countryside, are developed using environmentally friendly crops and are produced in a completely artisanal way. It is the best tribute we can make to our ancestors, those who began to work the land on which we now make these signature wines, with a wide range of pairings and lively nuances and an elegant flavour that your palate will enjoy.
We take care of every detail so that our wines reflect the great quality of the native varieties that our ancestors cultivated. Over the last 3 years, we have recovered and are currently developing in our vineyard: a Monastrell variety that, due to the beneficial conditions of the soil and the climate in which it grows, produces an artisan red wine of 11 vol% that impresses with its elegant and velvety flavour, with lively and pleasant tones that pair with an important range of gastronomic proposals. We also feel honoured to recover an indigenous strain of Merseguera grape, with which we produce the authentic golden wine of Campo de Cartagena. A signature white wine, unique in its class, that brings a melting pot of flavours to the table, exalting the charm of traditional dishes of Cartagena gastronomy such as rice in a cauldron from the Mar Menor and those dishes made with salted fish.
